Yule Ritual & Celebration
with John Hijatt
Saturday December 20th
5:30pm
Yule and Winter Solstice signal the end of long nights and the return of the sun. Many Yuletide traditions such as burning a Yule log, decorating a pine tree, hanging evergreen garlands, and the Wild Hunt originated from Germanic practices and folklore. Krampus, Yule Goat, Tomten, and more have wonderfully joined those practices leading up to the Solstice.
In the darkness of winter, it’s good to gather with friends and family to share light and goodwill. Join out amazing community here to celebrate connection and friendship. With this Yule ritual, we will reflect on the year we have had and welcome Sunna, the Sun, to brighten our days.
Feel free to channel the Ghost of Christmas Present and dress festively for the occasion.
We look forward to sharing sacred space with you.
Health
If you're feeling unwell the evening of we appreciate if you'd stay home and rest up!
Parking
We highly recommend coming down a bit early to comfortably find parking. Ocean Beach is a busy little beach community, but there is ample parking. There is a paid lot by the CVS across Cable St. and lots of free street parking available.
